Activities are in abundance in and around Phalaborwa. Whether you require adrenalin-filled, leisurely or family-orientated activities, you will have an extensive list to choose from. Hot Air ballooning: An experience like no other! Moving along at wind speed, you will be part of the climate of the day. Enjoy the panoramic views while you can completely unwind.
Astronomy Show: Astronomy guides offer an entertaining and informative presentation of the African night sky. You will view the moon, planets, constellations and other heavenly bodies through a Meade computerized telescope.
Amarula Lapa: For factory tours and various tastings (in and around February is the season for this)
Water Sports: For the adventurous guests, there are a selection of water sports to do around Phalaborwa such as river rafting, kayaking, tubing and a waterfall abseiling specifically geared toward the courageous.
Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre: This is the largest animal rehabilitation centre in South Africa. A guided tour lends itself to guests learning about poisoned, injured and abandoned wild animals.
Endangered Species Centre / Cheetah project: Situated in Hoedspruit, this centre is one of the leading private research and breeding facilities in the country. Join one of the daily guided tours and find out more about the endangered wild animals.
Swadini Reptile Park: Marvel at the collection of local and imported animals. You will find snakes, lizards, leguan, monkeys, turtles, spiders and crocodiles.
Coach House: A luxurious five star hotel, located at Agatha (Tzaneen). The hotel overlooks the Letsilele Valley and the magnificence of the un-ending Drakensberg Mountains. During the week you can visit the nougat factory, where the most delectable nougat is produced!
Agatha Crocodile Ranch: Situated an arms length outside Tzaneen, this crocodile farm shows you crocodiles big and small. You while you will be guided through the breeding dam and enclosures and it includes a feeding show.
Golf in the wild at Hans Merensky Country Club:
Enjoy playing 18 rounds of golf at the Hans Merensky Golf Course, where you may be spoilt to see Kruger National Park wildlife! The 18 hole Bob Grimsdell designed Par 72 Championship Golf course has been voted as the best walking course in the country. Tee off between 07:00 and 09:00 or 11:30 and 13:30. Visitors are welcome any day of the week. Only 5 minutes from Sefapane Lodge, with complimentary transfer.
